The Host is a beautiful futuristic science fiction where earth is invaded by a parasitic alien race called the Souls. The souls who have no body takes over the human body and wipes out the original occupant, therefore, taking over the entire human population while only few free humans live in shadows.
The Host tells the story of a young girls Melanie Stryder one of the last free humans whom a Soul named Wanderer was inserted into so they could locate the remaining hiding humans. While Melanie tries to resist Wanderer, she repeatedly storms her with the thought of her lover Jared and her brother Jamie.
Wanderer soon become emotionally connected to Melanie and decides to return her to her people.
Wanderer is later found near death from dehydration by Melanie's uncle and she is taken to their hideout. Her presence angers so many of the resident who sees her as the enemy. But after spending sometime with them, they accept and trust her.
After Wandered is tracked to the cave and killed one human, she remorsefully shows them how to safely extract Souls from their host body after which she offers to be removed from Melanie's body so Melanie could have her life back saying she'll rather die than have to possess another human being again. After she is extracted, her friend go against her wish and implant her into a girl whose mind was left black after a Soul was extracted from her.
Melanie Stryder gets her life back and Wanderer earns a place among the humans happily. Gladly, the motion picture of this amazing story hits the big screen on March 27, 2013. Can't wait.
